As the winner of the 2020 Regional Contractor of the Year (CotY) Award for Residential Kitchen Under $30,000, American Wood Reface understands the key elements to an award-winning kitchen.
(And this honor marks the 5th win for American Wood Reface as a NARI Contractor of the Year!)
The homeowners were tired of dealing with serious flaws in their kitchen, due to poor design in the original build, from tough-to-reach storage to ill-fitting appliances.
Additionally, the kitchen’s outdated appearance and low-quality materials were not aligned with the home’s value. The homeowners also wanted the project to be low-impact to their household, with a modest budget.
Cabinet refacing, especially with American Wood Reface’s solid wood refacing process that includes 1/4-inch solid wood was the perfect solution for high quality and high value. Cabinet boxes were expertly refaced with premium-quality, solid wood, then new, custom solid wood doors and drawer fronts were installed with new hardware. This high-end refacing process increases the quality and value of the kitchen comparable to new custom cabinetry at a significantly lower cost.
The homeowners’ problem of limited and hard-to-reach storage was solved by converting several cabinets to easy-to-access drawer banks and adding storage capacity in the island. Plus, the team added space for a larger, more modern refrigerator.
Refacing solved the quality, appearance, and functionality issues while preserving the budget and keeping disruption to a minimum, as our craftsmen are able to complete the average kitchen in about a week.
Finishes include refaced white perimeter cabinets with leather-finished granite countertops, silver gloss subway tile, and a contrasting island in a forest black finish. Stainless steel appliances and LED under cabinet lighting help finish the space.
